RADM Thomas A. Brooks joins NetStar Systems International Board FAIRFAX, VA - Rear Admiral Thomas A. Brooks, USN (Ret.), has been named to the Board of Directors of NetStar Systems International, Inc. "We are delighted to have Admiral Brooks on board," said NetStar Systems International (NETSTAR) President and CEO Lien Petruzzo. "Admiral Brooks has agreed to be a 'working member' of our board and brings a wealth of varied experience to NetStar, particularly in the area of Military Intelligence. We're very excited to have him as part of the NetStar team." Admiral Brooks began his Navy career in the mid-1950s when he enlisted in the Naval Reserve. He entered active duty status in 1958 and was commissioned via Officer Candidate School . After serving approximately 33 years as a Naval Intelligence officer, Brooks retired as a Rear Admiral in 1991 from his position as a Director of Naval Intelligence. Upon retirement from the Navy, Admiral Brooks began a ten year career with AT&T, where he held positions as Government Markets Vice President, Senior Vice President of AT&T Paradyne, and President of AT&T Technical Services Company. He has served as chairman of the board of AT&T Aviation Technologies in Beijing ; Datatek Corp., Dallas , TX ; and Gretag Data Systems , Zurich , Switzerland . In 1995, President Clinton appointed Admiral Brooks to the Defense Policy Board, where he subsequently served on the Defense Science Board Summer Study of 1997. He later was appointed to the Joint Security Commission in 1999, and as one of three Presidential appointees to the Security Policy Advisory Board from 1998 through 2001. Admiral Brooks is currently a member of the President's Council for the National Labs at the University of California , where he is past chairman of the Laboratory Security Panel, examining security as Los Alamos, Livermore , and Berkeley National Labs. He is also a member of the Secretary of the Navy's Advisory Subcommittee on Naval History and the Navy Research Advisory Counsel panel on Future Threats. Admiral Brooks is currently an Adjunct Faculty member at the Joint Military Intelligence College, where he teaches courses on Intelligence History, Warning, and Relationships Between Industry and Intelligence. He also currently serves on the Board of Directors of SAFENET Corporation, and served eight years on the Board of Navy Mutual Aid. He is past president of Naval Intelligence Professionals, past president of National Military Intelligence Association, and past Board member of Security Affairs Support Association.
